I photograph intimate weddings and elopements — the kind where everyone in the room is someone you love.

Your day will happen once, and most of it will happen in small moments nobody's posing for: your dad's face when he first sees you, your hands shaking a little during the vows, the laugh that breaks the ceremony's silence. I'm Hunter, a documentary wedding photographer serving Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, and the Lowcountry, and those moments are what I'm there for. I'm with you from getting-ready to send-off — the same eyes on your whole story, start to finish.

HOW I PHOTOGRAPH A WEDDING

Your Day, As It Happened

The quiet hours are where your wedding story starts — coffee and nerves in the getting-ready room, your mom fastening the last button, the letter you weren't going to cry reading. I'm there early, working quietly, while the day is still just yours.

During portraits, I'll guide you just enough — into the good light, close to each other — and then I step back. You don't need to perform for the camera. You need to be with the person you're marrying, and my job is to be ready when that shows on your faces. Which it will. It always does.

And then the rest of the day carries itself: the toast that goes off the rails, your grandmother on the dance floor, the sparkler exit where nobody's sparkler works right. Years from now, you'll remember how the day felt. My promise is that your photos will match.

WHAT I PHOTOGRAPH

Weddings, Elopements & Everything Between

Intimate Weddings

My sweet spot: weddings where the guest list is short and every name on it matters. With a smaller celebration, I'm not directing a production — I'm witnessing a family moment. You get complete coverage without a camera crew changing the feel of your day.

Elopements & Beach Ceremonies

Just the two of you — maybe a few witnesses, maybe an officiant with sandy shoes — on the beach at golden hour. I photograph elopements across Hilton Head Island's beaches and the Lowcountry's tucked-away spots, and I can help you plan the where and when for the best light of the day.

Engagements & Proposals

The story usually starts before the wedding. Planning the proposal itself, or want photos of this season while you're in it? See my couples & engagement sessions.

VENUES & SETTINGS

Where I Photograph Weddings in the Lowcountry

The Lowcountry was built for intimate weddings — live oaks, salt marsh, golden beach light. I photograph ceremonies and celebrations across the region: beach ceremonies at Coligny and Folly Field, weddings in Sea Pines and Harbour Town, celebrations under the oaks in Old Town Bluffton, and events at Palmetto Bluff — with travel available to Beaufort, Savannah, and beyond. Already booked your venue? Tell me where, and I'll tell you when the light there is at its best. Still looking? I'm happy to point you toward spots that fit the wedding you're imagining.

 What Working Together Looks Like

Every wedding collection includes my full presence for your coverage hours, a complete gallery of edited high-resolution images with print rights, and sneak peeks within days of your wedding — because I know you can't wait, and honestly, neither can I. Coverage is built around your day, not a package chart: an elopement might need three hours, an intimate wedding might need eight, and we'll figure out the right fit on our first call.

01

Inquire & Hold Your Date

Tell me about your day — the date, the place, the size, the feel. If I'm available, a signed agreement and retainer holds your date. I only take one wedding per date.

02

Plan Together

We'll talk through your timeline, and I'll help you build it around the light — when to do portraits, when to schedule the ceremony, where the sun will be. You get a photographer and a planning ally.

03

Your Day

I show up calm, early, and ready. You'll mostly forget I'm there — until you see what I saw.

Wedding Photography FAQs

How far in advance should we book?

For spring and fall dates — the Lowcountry's favorite seasons — six months to a year out is smart. Elopements and off-season weddings can often come together faster. If your date is soon, reach out anyway; if I'm free, I'm in.
